2-year-old alone, stolen Trump flag, wallets: Vienna police report
VIENNA, VA — Vienna police responded to a number of notable incidents over the past week, including a 2-year-old boy found wandering alone, as well as stolen wallets and alcohol.
The 2-year-old was found around noon on August 3 near Cedar Lane School at 101 Cedar Lane SW. A local resident had seen the child wandering around alone and called police. Officers found the child’s mother frantically looking around the parking lot of the apartments in the 200 block of Cedar Lane SE. The mother said the 2-year-old had learned to open the apartment door. When she woke up in the night, she found the child had left the house.
Police did not file charges. Officers made safety suggestions to better secure the home and make it child-proof.

A woman left her purse unattended in her shopping cart while shopping at Michaels. When she went to checkout, she discovered that her wallet had been stolen. A short time later, an attempt was made to fraudulently charge two of her credit cards at CVS at 337 Maple Avenue, East.

A woman left her purse unattended in her shopping cart at Giant when she was approached by another woman who asked for help finding an item. When she went to checkout, the woman discovered her wallet had been stolen.

A resident reported that someone had stolen a Trump flag that she had attached to a tree in her yard.
