Kerry Katona wants to take part in Strictly Come Dancing and work with a woman

Kerry Katona wants to take part in “Strictly Come Dancing” and would like to work with a woman.

The 43-year-old star admitted she loved taking part in ITV’s Dancing on Ice in 2011 and although the Latin and ballroom dancing show on BBC One seemed like “hard work”, she would jump at the chance to be paired with former professional dancer Joanne Clifton.

In her column in OK! Magazine, she wrote: “It seems like hard work but I would love to do it. If I enjoy something I’m not afraid to work hard. I loved being on Dancing On Ice and I think the key is to have fun so you enjoy the experience. Joanne Clifton would be my dream professional dancer, even if she’s no longer on the show.

Meanwhile, the former Atomic Kitten singer, who is engaged to fitness coach Ryan Mahoney, thinks it’s a “pity” that “Sherlock” actress Amanda Abbington dropped out of the competition for mysterious reasons and withdrew after five weeks out.

Kerry said: “Amanda Abbington has left Strictly and although I don’t watch the show I follow the news about it. It’s a shame she’s gone and although we don’t know why, I think it would be physically and emotionally draining. I hear her partner, Giovanni Pernice, is quite strict, which I don’t think is always the right way to go.”

Following her surprise elimination, Amanda praised her “hard-working and talented” fellow contestants and admitted that it was an “absolute joy” to work with them.

She wrote on Instagram: “I am deeply sorry to have had to leave Strictly. This decision has not been easy for me to make but for personal reasons I cannot continue. It has been an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants. They are a wonderful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and will miss seeing and competing with every Friday and Saturday.”
