Fireworks in the capital region

There will be fireworks displays throughout the capital region – some starting on Wednesday evening.

3rd of July


Amsterdam is hosting an Independence Day celebration from 5:00pm to 9:30pm at Riverfront Park. It will feature Amsterdam’s X-Squad Water Team Show,

Amsterdam’s X-Squad Water Team Show, Tim Barr, Kolbie G and Ryan Carmello and headliner Big Sky Country. The event concludes with a fireworks display over the Erie Canal.


Schenectady hosts its annual 4th for the third annual celebration at the historic Mabee Farm at 1100 Main St. in Rotterdam Junction. The event will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be local artisans and food vendors. Local 11 will take the stage at 6:00 p.m. The fireworks display will be at 9:00 p.m.

4th of July

The Fourth of July celebration, presented by Price Chopper/Market 32, will take place at Empire State Plaza. The program includes live music, food, a naturalization ceremony for new citizens, a flyover by the New York Air National Guard’s 109th Airlift Wing, children’s activities, a performance by the band Orleans at 8 p.m. and a concluding fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.

The site opens at 4 p.m. and offers free parking. is available in the visitor and “P” parking lots beneath Empire State Plaza, the Grand Street parking lot, and the Elk Street parking lot.

Clifton Park

The city of Clifton Park is hosting its Fourth of July celebration. A parade will take place along Route 146 starting at noon. In the evening, there will be a fireworks display on the Clifton Commons.

Lake George

The Village of Lake George hosts a fireworks display on the Fourth of July immediately after sunset.

Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs hosts a number of events downtown, including the annual Firecracker4 road race at 9 a.m., the Saratoga-Wilton Elk’s 55th annual Flag Day Parade at 5 p.m., a family-friendly concert with Tops of Trees from 7:30 to 9 p.m., followed by a fireworks display.
