Tyler Perry’s “Young Dylan”: Extension of the fifth season of the Nickelodeon comedy series planned – canceled + extended TV shows, ratings

Tyler Perry’s young Dylan stay for more. Nickelodeon has renewed the comedy series for a fifth season. Production on the 13-episode season will begin next week in Atlanta, according to Variety.

The series, starring Dylan Gilmer, Carl Anthony Payne II, Mieko Hillman, Aloma Lesley Wright, Celina Smith, Hero Hunter and Jet Miller, follows Dylan’s rise in the music world while living with his aunt and uncle. The following was revealed about season five:

“Season 5 follows Dylan and his cousin Rebecca (Smith) as they ‘attempt to grow their fledgling hip-hop record label while the entire Wilson family tries to cope with Dylan’s mogul dreams,’ according to Nickelodeon.”

Perry said the following about the series:

Young Dylan was a very entertaining series for families to watch together and we look forward to continuing the story of the Wilsons and Dylan as he tries to achieve his dreams.”

Young Dylan will return later this year with a holiday-themed episode.
