Ventura Park Tamworth McDonald’s closes for two months for ‘new look’ and 60 additional seats

A popular fast-food restaurant in a busy shopping centre is closing for two months as part of a refurbishment that will create 60 extra seats and a “new look”. McDonald’s in Bitterscote Drive, Ventura Park, Tamworth, is closed until August 7 as part of the Convenience of the Future programme.

A fence has been erected around the site, with banners reading “Preparing” and “We are making some exciting changes. We will reopen on August 7. Find restaurants near you with the McDonald’s app.”

There are restaurants near Watling Street, Wilnecote and Lichfield, and Tamworth has no shortage of fast food restaurants. Nando’s and Five Guys are all close to the closed McDonald’s.

A post on the Tamworth Matters Facebook page said: “McDonald’s Ventura will be closed for refurbishment from Monday 10 June and will reopen in August. Stock is limited today (Sunday) so please bear with staff if they don’t have everything you’re looking for – remember, it’s not their fault! The nearest McDonald’s open in the area are Wilnecote and Appleby Magna.”

A McDonald’s spokesperson confirmed to us: “Our Ventura Park Tamworth restaurant will be closed to undergo refurbishment as part of our Convenience of the Future program, designed to improve the experience for both customers and the restaurant team.

“The restaurant’s new look and feel includes a large outdoor terrace with 60 additional seats. We look forward to welcoming our customers back to the new restaurant in August.”
