Flint prosecutor lands new job in Battle Creek

Flint, MI – City Attorney William Kim is leaving Flint to take a job in the western part of the state.

According to Battle Creek City Commission records, officials interviewed Kim on June 18, 2024, during their regular meeting, which they moved to a closed session before introducing Kim to the public. Officials said all candidates for the position, including Kim, requested that their applications be reviewed in a closed session.

“Confidentiality: The Commission had already approved a job description that included minimum requirements. None of the other applicants felt that they met the minimum requirements contained in the job description. The candidate we interviewed tonight clearly met the minimum requirements and we look forward to interviewing him tonight,” Battle Creek officials said during the June 18 meeting.
