Nasty Nati kicks off the basketball tournament from 19 to 23 July

CINCINNATI – The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the winner-takes-all summer basketball event with a $1 million purse that will be broadcast live on FOX Sports, features the return of Nasty Nati, a former Cincinnati team. Nasty Nati will host the Cincinnati Regional, with games taking place July 19-23 at Fifth Third Arena.

Nasty Nati, the top seed in the Cincinnati area, is organized by former Bearcat Kevin Johnson and coached by Cashmere Wright. The roster includes Jarron Cumberland, the son of Scott and Cheryl Cumberland, formerly of Hillsboro and a graduate of Wilmington High School.

Cumberland is the 10th all-time leading player for the University of Cincinnati (133) and was the 2019 AAC Player of the Year. He is the fifth all-time leading player for career wins (105) and the seventh all-time leading player for assists (415). He played for UC from 2016-2020.

Nasty Nati will play AboutBillions on Friday, July 19th at 8pm ET. If Nasty Nati advances to the second round, they will face the winner of Brown Ballers and Red Rose Thunder on Sunday, July 21st at 4pm ET on FS1.

The Cincinnati Regional championship game will be held on Tuesday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The winner of the Cincinnati Regional will face the winner of the Dayton Regional in the quarterfinals on July 29 or 30 in either Dayton or Cincinnati (official game date, time and location to be announced). The semifinals and winner-take-all $1 million final will be held on August 2 and 4 at the Daskalakis Athletic Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
