A Michigan teenager who has been missing since May has just been found safe and sound in Miami – and it all happened after he happened to appear on a livestream.

In a Facebook post on May 21, the Flint Township Police Department asked the public for help for the first time in the search for Troy Coleman.

“He was (last) seen leaving his home in Flint Township and possibly boarding an MTA bus. His friends and family have not heard from him and are increasingly concerned,” the police message said. “He is 6’4″, 180 lbs, has black eyes and a scar above his left eye.”

Nearly two months later, FaZe Lacy and a friend named Clix were doing a livestream on Twitch when, according to CBS affiliate station WNEM, a person in green swim trunks appeared on their program and started talking to them. That person turned out to be Troy.

At that point, they had no idea who the stranger was, according to CBS affiliate WKRC. Then his brother contacted them.

In another X-post the following day, Lacy wrote that they had managed to contact Coleman’s family.

“We contacted his brother and told him what hotel (the teen) was staying at during the stream,” Lacy wrote. “He was found and placed in a holding cell in Miami until he is returned to Michigan with his family. The power of the internet is incredible, thank you guys ❤️.”
