NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Yolanda Lynn Franklin, 53, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Sunday, June 30, 2024, in Baton Rouge, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the New Hope Vision Center with Bishop Stanley Searcy, Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

The viewing will take place on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service in the church.

Yolanda was born on October 13, 1970 in Natchez to Mary Franklin and John Tyler Sr. She attended South Natchez and received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Alcorn State University. She was a member of New Hope the Vision Center. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, her son Fredrick Smith Jr., her niece De’Elra Clark, her nephew Malcolm Collins, her special cousin Porsha Singleton and her godson Avery Johnson Sr.

Yolanda leaves behind to cherish her memories: her mother Mary Franklin; her sons Roderick Franklin, Darius Franklin, Jeremy Franklin and Jarrell Franklin; her daughters Anightress Neal, Whitany Franklin and Brittany Franklin; her brothers Myron Franklin and John Tyler, Jr.; her sisters Patina Tyler Jackson, Tracey Tyler-McDonald, Kimberly Tyler Banks, Stephanie Franklin and Kristie Franklin; nineteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one godson and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
