Almshouse Road closed for 2 weeks, diversions planned

WARMINSTER, PA — A sewer pipe replacement project begins Monday on Route 332 in nearby Northampton Township that could cause chaos for township motorists for the next few weeks, PennDOT said.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said Almshouse Road will be closed starting Monday, causing detours for motorists.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • From Monday, July 8, through Saturday, July 20, Almshouse Road will be closed 24 hours a day between Second Street Pike and Jacksonville Road.

During the closure, motorists are asked to use Jacksonville Road, Bristol Road and Route 232 (Second Street Pike) to avoid the construction site.

During construction, Almshouse Road will be open to local traffic between Second Street Pike and Hatboro Road, including access to Tanner’s Store. The main closure will be between Hatboro Road and Jacksonville Road, where the work is taking place.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area as congestion and delays may occur.

All planned activities are weather dependent.
