Summer concert series at the Promenade Park Amphitheater

Edinburg proudly announces its highly anticipated Summer Concert Series at Promenade Park Amphitheater, 201 W. McIntyre St. This series promises to unite the community with an unforgettable program of musical talent, food, drinks and fun for all.

  • June 28, 2024 – Country Night Concert: Kicking off the series with a spectacular night of country music featuring Brody Rivers, Joe V. & Midnight Run and headliner Casey Donahew. Country music fans won’t want to miss this evening of high-energy performances and fun tunes.
  • August 10, 2024 – Country Night Concert: Close out the series with the JR Cole Band, Matt Castillo and the legendary Kevin Fowler. Enjoy classic hits and an unforgettable night under the stars.

Tickets are $20 and are available in advance or at the door. Beer and food vendors will be on-site offering a wide variety of refreshments.

FridaFest: A tribute to Frida Kahlo

Mark your calendars for one of Edinburgh’s most anticipated summer events – the annual FridaFest on July 27th! This atmospheric festival honours the famous Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and celebrates the spirit of resilience and empowerment. This year, FridaFest is even bigger, merging with the One Nation One Project Arts for EveryBody Festival, a major celebration of the arts and wellbeing.

South Texas International Film Festival 48-Hour Film Race

Closing out the summer and setting the stage for our fall festivities is the South Texas International Film Festival’s exciting 48-Hour Film Race! Beginning Friday, August 30, 2024, contestants will have 48 hours to unleash their creativity and filmmaking skills in a race against time. Contestants will conceive, write, shoot, edit and upload their short films within the tight deadline.

The winning filmmakers’ films will be screened at the prestigious 10th annual South Texas International Film Festival in September, where they will compete for a variety of awards. Judges will look for outstanding creativity and innovation, and will award bonus points to those who push the boundaries of their craft. Whether you’re a seasoned filmmaker or a passionate newbie, this is your chance to showcase your talent and bring your unique vision to life on the big screen. Don’t miss this opportunity to make an impression at one of South Texas’ most highly anticipated film events!
