Edinburgh city sewage treatment plant is being modernized

Edinburgh, Texas— To ensure that all City of Edinburgh facilities continue to operate efficiently as the municipality continues to grow, construction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), which represents Phase 1 of the planned wastewater improvements, has commenced, incorporating functional improvements.

The project will expand the existing plant from 12.3 million gallons per day (MGD) to 13.5 MGD. With construction already underway, there will be four main activities focusing on

Stage 1:
1) Construction, repair and modernization of liquid treatment plants,
2) Construction, repair and modernization of sludge treatment plants,
3) Site work to improve plant functionality,
4) Demolition and removal of abandoned facilities.

Anyone interested in learning more about the facility upgrade is asked to attend the project announcement ceremony in the City Hall courtyard, 415 W. University Drive, on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10 a.m.
