Hunter Armstrong from Dover qualifies for 2nd Olympic Games

Former Ohio State University swimmer Hunter Armstrong has secured his ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as a member of the US team’s 4×100 freestyle relay team.

Armstrong, of Dover, Ohio, finished fourth in the 100-meter freestyle final, running a personal best of 47.78 to secure the final spot in the four-man relay.

This will be Armstrong’s second Olympic Games; he competed with the US team in Tokyo, where he won a gold medal as part of the 4x100m medley relay.

Armstrong also finished second in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 52.72, which also qualified him to compete in this event in Paris.

The swimming competitions of the 2024 Olympic Games will be held at the Arena Paris La Defense in the city of Nanterre. Indoor swimming begins on July 27 and lasts until August 4. A total of 35 competitions will be held in which medals are at stake.
