The world of aviation on the way to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024

Oshkosh, Wisconsin, July 10, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Final preparations are underway as EAA AirVenture Oshkosh becomes the center of the aviation world July 22-28. More than 10,000 aircraft and 650,000 people are expected to attend the week-long aviation conference. Wittman Regional Airport is expected to once again become the world’s busiest airport this week.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is a popular destination for many, as the week-long event is known for its daily air shows, new product launches and aircraft of all shapes and sizes, from hot air balloons to fighter jets. More than 800 exhibitors showcase all facets of aviation technology.

This year’s highlights include:

  • The Anniversary with performances by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the CF-18 Demo Team, the Avro Lancaster Mk. X and more. (26-28 July)
  • A performance by the Frecce Tricolori, the aerobatic team of the Italian Air Force (23 July)
  • A commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the turning point in World War II in 1944, featuring a large collection of aircraft from the D-Day era and other years of World War II.
  • An appearance by Miss America, Madison Marsh, who is also an active member of the US Air Force
  • Modern military flight demonstrations, including performances by the F-35, F-22, F-16 and A-10 demo teams, highlighting the involvement of the Air Force Materiel Command

“EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is considered by many to be the aviation family reunion, as a wide variety of aircraft come to Wittman Regional Airport each year,” said Rick Larsen, EAA vice president of communities and member programs, who coordinates AirVenture offerings and attractions. “Oshkosh continues to be a household name and a premier destination for pilots from around the world.”
