Maintenance technician

Basic duties and obligations:
Performs visual inspection and testing of machines and equipment.
Disassembles broken machinery and equipment and installs new or repaired parts. Installs and repairs basic electrical assemblies and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Repairs and maintains the physical structure of the operation, including carpentry, painting, etc. Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, grinders, drill presses, and milling machines to repair or fabricate machine parts, fixtures, and tools. Operates cutting torches or welders to cut or join metal parts. Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wood structures.
Performs preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment. Troubleshoots equipment problems and creates work orders.

Qualifications: High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); or one to three months of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Basic math and language skills. Valid TXDL with driving record acceptable to agency’s auto liability insurance. Bilingualism a plus. Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Pay ranges from $16.00 – $19.20 per hour.
