Local eatery becomes fifth pub in Greene King where drinks come first

The Red Lion in Chesham has announced that it will become a ‘Nest Pub’ – a pub where alcohol comes first – following a £375,000 transformation.

The move was announced by the management of the Greene King franchised pub.

It is the fifth Greene King establishment to declare itself a “Nest Pub”.

Despite the focus on drinks, the Red Lion will continue to offer a selection of pizzas.

In addition to regular activities for visitors, such as a pub quiz, the Red Lion also offers Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

Red Lion franchisee Ollie Roberts said: “I’I am thrilled to become a franchisee of The Red Lion.

“Having already managed that pub, the opportunity to run it as my own pub with the support of Greene King was too good an opportunity to turn down!

“As a local myself with strong ties to the community, I want to ensure that the Red Lion is the hub of social life in the area, so we will definitely have plenty of entertainment and community events – starting with the Euros, which we have opened just in time for!

“The pub has been the subject of a major investment of £375,000, so no stone has been left unturned to modernise it whilst retaining some of its key features and heritage.

“From the beer garden to the bar it looks absolutely stunning. I can’t wait to welcome people back to the new and improved pub!”
