After being released from his contract with Fenerbahce Beko, Tyler Dorsey’s next challenge was immediately confirmed: a reunion with Olympiacos.

The Istanbul team officially parted ways with Dorsey on Sunday evening. Shortly thereafter, the Reds announced his inclusion in the squad. The explosive guard signed a three-year contract, including an option for the final year of the contract.

Eurohoops reported on Thursday that the 28-year-old Dorsey is in agreement with Olympiacos.

In his first stint with the Greek top team in the 2021/22 season, the former Oregon star helped his team reach the Final Four. Repeated qualification for the end-of-season tournament of the most important European club competition in the next two seasons ensured a three-year winning streak for the team coached by Giorgos Bartzokas.

Dorsey’s path instead led him to the NBA at the start of the 2022-23 season with the Dallas Mavericks and from there to the Texas Legends in the G League. In March, he used his overseas options and joined Fener for the rest of the season. He stayed for the 2023-24 season and averaged 8.7 points per game in 38 EuroLeague games, including 16 starts.

A veteran of 151 EuroLeague appearances – with Fenerbahçe and Olympiacos, as well as a previous stint with Maccabi Tel Aviv – and 107 NBA games with the Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks, he has also proven his talent at the international level, including representing Greece at EuroBasket 2022.
