Body discovered between Clifton’s third and fourth beaches

On Thursday afternoon, the body of a man was discovered on Clifton Beach in Cape Town.
According to Sergeant Wesley Twigg, spokesman for the Western Cape police, the partially decomposed body was found between 3rd and 4th Beach.
“Camps Bay police have launched an investigation into the incident,” Twigg said.
SAPS divers have been dispatched to recover the body from the rocks and a post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death, Twigg added.
District Councillor Nicola Jowell commented: “The deceased is an adult male who appears to have been in the water for some time. The exact location and circumstances in which he entered the water are unknown.”
Jowell noted that due to rough and high seas, it could have happened anywhere along the coast.
“I hope SAPS can identify him so his family can put their past behind them.”
