Jesse Ventura says he almost quit the WWE Hall of Fame because of Donald Trump
Jesse Ventura comments on Donald Trump.
Jesse Ventura and Donald Trump are two WWE Hall of Fame members who have achieved success in politics: Ventura served as governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003 and Trump served as President of the United States from 2017 to 2021.
Speaking to Insight’s Chris Van Vliet, Ventura was asked if he still had political ambitions.
“If I had the right to vote in all 50 states and participate in the debates, I would be the next President of the United States. Immediately.” he said.
He continued: “I object to one of these candidates. I object to him, and I can name him so you know who it is now. I can object to him because he’s in the Wrestling Hall of Fame. I almost backed out of this candidacy two or three times because of that.”
When it was discovered that Ventura and Trump were friends at WrestleMania 20, Ventura responded: “He’s not the same man. He’s not the same guy, and you learn more about people as time goes by.”
Trump is expected to run for president again this year.
Elsewhere in the interview, Ventura commented on his current relationship with WWE. His full comments can be found here.
