Levi Tyler Hess (2007 – 2024)


Levi Tyler Hess, age 17, of Edgerton, Ohio, died on Sunday, August 25, 2024 as a result of a car accident.

Levi was a junior at Edgerton High School, where he was on the football, wrestling and baseball teams.

He also volunteered at the school, clearing tables during lunch breaks and mentoring fourth-grade students.

Levi was a junior firefighter with the Edgerton Volunteer Fire Department. He worked in concessions at Fleo’s Flicks and Studor & Sons Custom Machining.

He was an outdoorsman and country boy at heart. He loved hunting, fishing, kayaking and just being outdoors and being active.

Levi Tyler Hess was born on August 3, 2007 in Bryan, Ohio, to Steven L. and Lisa L. (Carpenter) Hess.

He is survived by his parents, his sister Kershana Grapengeter and his brother Colton Hess, all of Edgerton, his maternal grandmother, Sharon Carpenter, of Roseville, Michigan, and his paternal grandfather, David Newbrough, of Moundsville, West Virginia.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Charles Carpenter Sr., his maternal grandmother, Cheryl Newbrough, his aunt, Velma Thomas, and his cousin, Phoenix Carpenter.

The wake will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. The funeral service will be on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with his uncle, Pastor Matthew Carpenter, officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery.
