Major rail improvements in Abington Township: Plan your route
ABINGTON TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming track improvements by SEPTA on Susquehanna Road in Abington Township, Montgomery County. Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 3.
The intersection of Susquehanna Road and Easton Road will be closed from September 3 at 9:00 a.m. to September 9 at 8:00 p.m. During this time, motorists must follow a designated detour route. The detour will take drivers onto Edge Hill Road, Easton Road, Jenkintown Road and Fitzwatertown Road.
Commuters should expect longer travel times as delays and congestion are expected due to the closure. These improvements are part of SEPTA’s ongoing efforts to improve rail infrastructure in the region. All activities are subject to change due to weather conditions, which may impact schedules.
The community is requested to stay updated on the project to minimize inconvenience and ensure a smooth commute.
