Following a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over the Real Monarchs last Sunday at Titan Stadium, LAFC2 will face rivals Ventura County FC on Sunday, August 11 at William Rolland Stadium on the campus of California Lutheran University.

Luis Müller’s brace secured the win for the Black & Gold (9W-6L-4D) and keeps LAFC in sixth place in the Western Conference of MLS NEXT Pro with 33 points from 19 games played.

Müller has already scored six goals and provided two assists this season. Only Adrian Wibowo is better, leading the team with eight goals and three assists.

Historically, LAFC2 holds a record of 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw against VCFC and remained undefeated in their last four meetings with the Galaxy-affiliated club in regular time.

This is the third meeting between the teams this season. LAFC2 won the first meeting 2-1 in April and the second ended in a 1-1 draw last month. VCFC won the shootout 6-5 and denied LAFC2 the extra point under MLS NEXT Pro rules.

Under coach Matt Taylor, VCFC will be looking to make amends in 2024 after finishing last in the Western Conference in 2023.

Ventura County is currently in third place in the Western Conference with 36 points from 20 games played.

The team’s offense is led by Aaron Bibout, who has scored eight goals and provided four assists this season.
