Project SEARCH graduates four interns – Hillsboro Free Press
Four interns from the SEARCH project recently completed their studies and are now on their way to new adventures.
Ella Jost, Hillsboro, was employed by Wendy’s and Pioneer Catering Services at Tabor College.
Wenxi Funk of Hillsboro was employed by Pioneer Catering Services at Tabor College. In August, he will attend Flint Hills Technical College to study culinary arts.
Roy Blosser of Tampa will volunteer at the Tampa Library.
Zach Nolte, Goessel, was employed at Dale’s Supermarket.
“These graduates have made a lasting impression on our Project SEARCH program as well as on the Tabor College campus during their three internships this past school year. These interns have grown in confidence and have learned hard skills and soft skills to prepare for competitive employment. These interns have also increased their understanding of socially acceptable behavior at work and how to manage emotions in the workplace. We are proud of these interns and their hard work and dedication to learning the skills needed to get and keep a competitive job,” said Robert Haude, Project SEARCH Coordinator at Tabor College.
Project SEARCH is a school-to-work transition program run by Tabor College and administered by the Marion County Special Education Cooperative.
