Inclusive Rodeo

Not everyone who enjoys rodeo is a white Christian. It would be really nice and would feel really welcoming if the opening ceremony of the County Fair Rodeo used more inclusive or at least neutral language – something that includes everyone or at least doesn’t exclude anyone.

Celiac disease

I liked the article about a woman who opened a gluten-free food business. I was disgusted by the author’s lightness of celiac disease. My grandson was hospitalized twice, not because of foods prepared with gluten, but because the college cafeteria was not careful enough to avoid cross-contamination. This is a serious disease and not something that inconveniences people.

Ignored messages

I was just wondering why you didn’t cover one of the biggest news stories yesterday that even CNN, which leans more toward Democrats, covered. It was the fact that Democratic vice presidential candidate Walz lied about his military service. It was all over the news again yesterday, including CNN. I wish you would cover things in a balanced way between Republicans and Democrats.

Ad hominem

The ad hominem fallacy dominates the political attacks in the TC Line. These are lies to influence weak minds. If your point of view cannot be considered rationally, then your argument appeals only to fools.

Valuable prairie

Boulder County Parks and Open Space calls prairies “our premier carbon sequestration communities.” I hope the City Council takes note as they rapidly fill every available open field in the Longmont area with housing, shopping centers, and other buildings.

Peas in a pod

Harris and Walz: two peas in a pod. Lie, lie, lie.

State capitalism

Anyone who thinks government should be run like a business is on the wrong track. They should mix that stuff with something better. Government is a monopoly because it can’t be a business. That doesn’t work. They should have learned from 2016 and a few years more. Remember, the formal definition of fascism is state capitalism.
