Tryan and Moore continue to dominate the 2024 Resistol Rookie race
Tyler Tryan and Logan Moore have extended their lead in the race for the Resistol Rookie of the Year 2024 with 53,803.80 USD And 47,394.16 USD won this year.
Tryan, 18, now leads the header with $23,356.02 and Moore, 22, leads the heeler with $17,507.63. Behind them in second place are header Korbin Rice with $30,447.78 and heeler Denton Dunning with $29,886.53 battling for the year-end titles.
Check collection
Tryan and Moore began the year lassoing together, but Dunning filled in for Moore when he competed in the College National Finals Rodeo in June. Since Moore’s return, he and Tryan have been in top form.
Tryan and Moore quickly rebounded with a check for $4,935 apiece at the Reno Rodeo June 21-29. They followed that with $10,191 apiece at Cowboy Christmas. The Texans collected $3,420 apiece at the BigFork Summer ProRodeo in Montana and the Central Wyoming Fair & PRCA Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming, keeping the momentum going after the fourth round.
After Casper, they had a two-week dry spell, but came back with full force. Since the last weekend in July, Tryan and Moore have 17,910 USD a man. The young guns finished the month with $4,764 each at the Deadwood Days Of ’76 Rodeo in South Dakota and kicked off August with a trip to the Dodge City Roundup Rodeo in Kansas, where they each won $5,013. They also had success in some recent individual races: They won the War Bonnet Round Up in Idaho Falls, Idaho, for $3,615 a man and took second place at the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo in Castle Rock, Colorado, for $4,518 each.
How does this compare?
If their lead alone isn’t impressive, their current year-end winnings certainly are. With just seven weeks left until the 2024 ProRodeo season, Tryan and Moore are inching closer to matching the winnings of the 2023 Resistol Rookie of the Year winners.
In 2023, Cole Thomas won the Resistol Rookie Header of the Year title with $59,480.67; on the heel side, Kaden Profili won the 2023 title with $51,048.09. Tryan and Moore are only $5,676.87 And $3,653.93 behind last year’s profits.
